Basic information
This article explains how to build a new landing in Pangea CMS.
A landing is a collection of featured content for a particular podcast or show. Landings help you:
- Define the identity of the podcast or show.
- Tell visitors what to expect from the podcast or show.
- Promote popular episodes and related content.
- Announce when new episodes are available.
Where landings appear
On the public site, all episodes from the same podcast or show display a branded header with clickable tabs. If a podcast or show has a landing, it appears under the Home tab.
NOTE: Landings are optional. If a podcast or show does not have a landing, the header does not include the 'Home' tab.
Landings and categories
Landings are assigned at Categories organize your website content by topic. For example, your website might have a 'Politics' category for all political content. Every content page in Pangea CMS must have at least one category. Learn more. level. Every podcast and show has a corresponding category in Pangea CMS. Before publishing a new landing, you need to assign it to the corresponding category for the podcast or show.
NOTE: Landings are available for TV and radio categories only.
Open the landings list
In Pangea CMS, go to Build > Landings to see a list of all the landings for your site.
To create a new landing, click Add new.

Set the title and starting layout
On the New landing dialog, complete the following settings:
Layout
Select the starting layout for the landing. This controls which layout blocks are included by default on the new landing. You can add and remove layout blocks later.
By default, Blank page is selected, which creates the new landing with no layout blocks. You can manually add the blocks you need.
General settings
- Title: The landing title in your local website language. This title does not appear on the public site.
- English title: The landing title in English. English titles are helpful for Pangea users who do not understand your local language. This title does not appear on the public site.
After you add both titles, click Add. After you perform this step:
- The edit page for your new landing opens.
- Your new landing is saved in Pangea CMS and appears on the landings list.
Set the layout
Before you add content, set the layout for your new landing. To get started, click Layout in the left panel.
Layout blocks provide the underlying structure for your landing. Each block:
- Runs horizontally across the full page width
- Contains one or more areas where you can place Widgets are interactive page elements that display and promote your content for website visitors. Pangea CMS offers various widget types and layouts that serve different purposes. Learn more.
- Displays one widget per area
The highlighted layout block has two areas and should be used to display two separate widgets.
On the Layout subpage, you can add, delete, and move blocks to create a custom layout that fits your exact needs.
Add content
After setting up the layout, you are ready to start adding content. Content is added to landings using Widgets are interactive page elements that display and promote your content for website visitors. Pangea CMS offers various widget types and layouts that serve different purposes. Learn more..
To start adding widgets to your landing, select the Editor tab.
Widget types for landings
All Pangea widget types are supported on landings. The following widget types are especially useful for landings:
- Multimedia widget: Share an on-demand audio / video item.
- Podcast widget: Share the latest episode from a podcast.
- HTML widget: Display custom content (including text and external media items).
- Trends widget: Display current trending items from the category.
- Content widget: Share one or more links to content pages.
TIP: Use the 'Media slider' layout to share more links without increasing the vertical length of the page. See Using the 'Media slider' widget layout for more details.
Create a new widget
You can create a new widget to display on your landing. Follow these steps:
- Click the empty area where you want to display the widget.
- On the Add widget dialog, make sure the New widget tab is selected.
- Select the type of widget you want to create.
The edit page for the new widget opens. For detailed information about how to set up a new widget, see the relevant article below, depending on the type of widget:

Reuse a library widget
Alternatively, you can reuse an existing widget from the The widget library is a collection of ready-to-use widgets. Widgets saved in the widget library are known as library widgets. One library widget might be used in multiple places across your website. Learn more.. Follow these steps:
- Click the empty area where you want to display the widget.
- On the Add widget dialog, select the Library widget tab.
- Search for and select the widget you want to use.
The library widget appears in your selected area.
Manage widgets
On the Editor subpage, various options are available for managing your previously added widgets:
Assign a category
You cannot publish the landing without assigning a category. The landing will appear under the 'Home' tab in the header for this category.
To assign a category, go to Settings > General > Category.
Rules for category selection
- You can only select a TV or radio category. Content categories do not appear on the list.
- Every TV and radio category can have one landing. Categories that already have a landing do not appear on the list.
- You cannot select multiple categories.
Publish your landing
When your landing is prepared, follow these steps to publish it:
- Select Published in the status selector.
- Click Publish or Publish & close.
The landing is now published.
