Basic information
Media slider is a special layout option that is available for the Content widget. The Media slider layout lets visitors scroll through a selection of content pages on a horizontal slider reel.
When you apply the Media slider layout, choose between the following modes:
- Dark mode: The widget has a dark background. Intended to promote multimedia content, such as Videos and Photo galleries.
- Light mode: The widget has a light background. Intended to promote Articles and other non-multimedia content.
Build a Media Slider widget
The following pages and segments might include a Media slider widget:
- Section pages (including your homepage)
- Infopages
- Landings
- You Might Also Like (YMAL)
To build a Media slider widget:
- Go to Build in the primary navigation.
- Choose the type of page / segment where you want to display the widget.
- Select the specific page / segment where you want to display the widget.
- Ensure Editor is selected in the left panel.
- Click the empty Media slider layout block.
- Select New widget > Content to start building a new Media slider widget.
- Select your preferred layout.
- To use dark mode, keep the Dark mode slider enabled. Alternatively, disable this slider to use light mode.
The remaining options are the same as for creating a standard Content widget.
Add a Media slider layout block
To build a new Media slider widget, you first need an empty Media slider layout block. Identify this special layout block as follows:
- Via the Editor view, the Media slider block is black.
- Via the Layout view, the Media slider block is black and marked Special.
If an empty Media slider layout block is not currently available, you can add it:
- Select Layout in the left panel.
- Scroll to the place where you want to add the block. Click Add block.
- Select Media slider under Special.
The layout block is added. Go to the Editor view to build the Media slider widget.
