Basic information
In the Widget library, you can build and manage library widgets. Library widgets work as follows:
- A library widget might be displayed in multiple places on the public site (or it might be displayed nowhere).
- When you edit a library widget, the changes apply automatically for all instances of the library widget.
Library widget functionality saves time and ensures all instances of the same widget are updated consistently.
Build a library widget
To build a new library widget:
- Go to Build > Widget library in the primary navigation.
- Select + Add new.
- Select the type of widget you want to build.

Display a library widget
On the public site, a library widget might be displayed on any of the following pages and segments:
- Section pages (including your homepage)
- Infopages
- Landings
- Regions
- You Might Also Like (YMAL)
To display a library widget on the public site:
- Go to Build in the primary navigation.
- Choose the type of page / segment where you want to display the widget.
- Select the specific page / segment where you want to display the widget.
- Ensure Editor is selected in the left panel.
- Select the empty area where you want to display the widget.
- Select Library widget.
- Select the specific library widget you want to display.
The library widget is now displayed on the public site. In Pangea CMS, it is marked with the Widget library badge.
Edit a library widget
When you edit a library widget, the changes apply automatically for all instances of the library widget. This applies regardless of how and where you start editing the widget. The following methods are available for editing a library widget:
Edit via Widget library
To edit a library widget via the Widget library:
- Go to Build > Widget library in the primary navigation.
- Select the widget you want to edit.
Edit via builder
You can edit a library widget from the builder for any page / segment where the widget is displayed.
Go to the Editor view, and hit the widget box to start editing the widget.
Delete a library widget
When you delete a library widget:
- The widget and all its settings are permanently deleted.
- All instances of the widget are deleted from the public site. A blank space is left on pages where the widget was previously displayed.
To delete a library widget:
- Go to Build > Widget library in the primary navigation.
- Hover over the widget and hit the Remove button.
The widget is permanently deleted.
Remove a widget from the Widget library
When you remove a widget from the Widget library:
- All instances of the widget remain visible on the public site.
- All instances of the widget become independent widgets.
To remove a widget from the Widget library:
- Go to Build > Widget library in the primary navigation.
- Hover over the widget and hit the Remove from library button.
The widget is now removed from the Widget library.
Add a widget to the Widget library
You can add an independent widget to the Widget library. Follow these steps:
- Go to Build in the primary navigation.
- Choose the type of page / segment where the widget is displayed.
- Select the specific page / segment where the widget is displayed.
- Ensure Editor is selected in the left panel.
- On the widget box, hit ... > Add to library.
- Under Widget title, enter a title to identity the widget in Pangea CMS. The title will not be displayed on the public site. Hit Add confirm the change.
The widget is now a library widget and is listed in the Widget library.
