Basic information
This article explains how to upload and publish a new on-demand audio clip from Pangea CMS.
What is an on-demand audio clip?
An on-demand audio clip is a piece of audio content that website visitors can consume at any time. After you publish a new on-demand audio clip:
- The audio clip is published on its own dedicated content page. It can be shared and promoted on widgets like any other content page.
- You can embed the audio clip directly into text content pages. Visitors can listen to the audio from the embedded player without leaving the content page.
- Pangea offers special widgets for sharing on-demand media. You might share the audio on a Multimedia or Podcast widget. For detailed information, visit the relevant article below:
Upload an audio file
First, you need to manually upload the audio file to Pangea CMS. To start the upload process, go to Create > Multimedia > Audio clip. For detailed instructions and information on how to upload an audio file, visit the following article:
As soon as the upload starts:

You can open the edit page for a newly uploaded audio clip using one of the methods below:

- (B): Find the audio clip on the main Search page and hit the title. For tips on how to use search in Pangea CMS, visit the following article:
The remaining chapters in this article describe the essential steps for publishing a new on-demand audio clip, as well as some optional features that might be helpful.
Add the General title and URL slug
Via General > Title, add the General title for the audio clip.
The General title will be displayed as the headline on the audio clip page and in the player if the audio is embedded. Add the URL slug
After you add the General title, we suggest adding a URL slug. The slug will be included in the URL for the audio clip page. This improves usability by telling users where they will go after clicking the link. URL slugs can also help your pages to rank more highly on search engine results pages.
Add a URL slug via General > URL slug.
Add Categories
Every content page in Pangea CMS must have at least one Category. Categories act like folders on your computer, where items are stored and organized. A Category is normally a topic, such as 'Politics' or 'Sport'. For each content page, you can add one or more Categories. To get started, go to General > Categories.
Set the Primary Category
If you add multiple Categories, you need to set one Primary Category. Click the badge for your chosen Primary Category, so that it is marked blue. All other Categories will be added as Secondary Categories (marked gray).
The name of the Primary Category will be shown on the published audio clip page. For audio clips that are part of a regular podcast or show, use the name of the series as the Primary Category. Add the Main visual

- In the embedded audio player.

Add the Main visual via General > Main visual.
For an audio clip, the Main visual must be an image. To search for an image, select the relevant tab:

Via General > Introduction, add the General introduction for the audio clip.
Add Content and a Teaser introduction
The Introduction field should include a maximum of 300 characters and supports plain text with no links or styling. If you want to show a longer text on the page or provide links to other pages, you can display content on the page instead of an introduction. Enter content via General > Content.
NOTE: If you enter a General introduction (General > Introduction) and content, both texts will be displayed on the audio clip page.
If you don't provide a General introduction (General > Introduction), we recommend providing a Teaser introduction via Website teaser > Introduction. - Draft: The page is not published. The page is still in progress and is not yet ready for editorial review.
- Edited: The page is not published. The first draft of the page is prepared and waiting for editorial review.
