This article explains how to insert a Pangea content item on a content page as a direct embed .
Two ways to insert Pangea content There are two ways to insert a Pangea content item on a content page:
Direct embed : A direct embed is normally interactive on the page. For example, readers can watch an embedded video without leaving the article.See also link : The content appears as a card-style link (similar to a social media preview) that directs readers to a separate content page.A video inserted as a direct embed (left) and a feature story inserted as a see also link (right).

What is Pangea content? Pangea content is any content created and published through Pangea CMS. You can insert the following content types as direct embeds:
Text :Multimedia :Audio clip, Audio feature, Broadcast program, Document, Photo gallery, Slider gallery, Video Interactive :Dynamic infographic, Poll, Quiz, Snippet NOTE : You can directly embed content from your own site. You cannot directly embed content from other sites.
Layout options for direct embeds When you insert a Pangea content item as a direct embed, you can choose from different layouts. The available layouts vary depending on the type of content you are embedding:
Text content When you insert a backgrounder as a direct embed, the following layouts are available:
Center : The backgrounder occupies the full content width.Side : The backgrounder is attached at the side of the content.A directly embedded backgrounder with the 'Center' layout (top) and the 'Side' layout (bottom).

Multimedia content When you insert an audio content item as a direct embed, one layout is available:
Big : The player occupies the full content width. Readers can listen to the audio without leaving the article.A directly embedded audio clip.

When you insert a document as a direct embed, one layout is available:
Small (with image) : The embedded document appears as an inline preview, which directs readers to a separate content page. The distinctive layout with a 'document' icon signals that the destination is a document rather than a standard page.A directly embedded document.

When you insert a photo gallery as a direct embed, the following layouts are available:
Big (available for all text content types ): The embedded gallery occupies the full content width.Jumbo (available in feature stories With either layout, readers can browse the photos without leaving the article.

When you insert a snippet as a direct embed, the following layouts are available:
Big (available for all text content types ): The embedded snippet occupies the full content width.Jumbo (available in feature stories Full-width (available in feature stories With any layout, readers can see and interact with the full snippet without leaving the article.

Insert a direct embed You can insert a direct embed on the following text content pages:
Article, Blog, Factcheck, Feature, Feature story, Live blog, News, Transcript On the edit page for an article in Pangea CMS, follow these steps:
Select Editor in the left menu.
In the content box, position the cursor where you want to insert the item.
Select the Insert embedded content button in the toolbar.
On the Search & attach dialog, select Single item > Content .
If necessary, use the options in the left menu to filter the search results.
Select the item you want to insert.

The Embed settings dialog opens. The available settings depend on the content type. Find details for each type below.
Text content The following options are available:
Direct embed When you insert a backgrounder, two layout options are available:

Title Under Title , set the title that appears at the top of the backgrounder. The following options are available:
Default : The default title is prefilled.Custom : You can enter a custom title that replaces the default title.Multimedia content The following options are available:
How will this content appear? Make sure Direct embed is selected.

Title If the Display title slider is enabled, a title appears above the gallery. If you do not want to display a title above the gallery, disable this slider.
If you want to show a title, the following options are available:
Default : The default title is prefilled. Leave it to show this title.Custom : Enter a custom title that replaces the default title.The following options are available:

Personal note You can enter a personal note that appears in the placeholder for the snippet in Pangea CMS. This text does not appear on the public website. It helps other Pangea CMS users to understand exactly what the embed is.

After adjusting the settings, click Insert .
Preview before publishing After you insert a direct embed, you see a placeholder representing the embed in the content box on the article edit page.
You can check how the embed will look on the page after publication. Under Preview in the left panel, you can preview the page on different devices:
The preview includes unsaved changes. You do not need to save changes before checking them in the preview.
