About uploading video files
How many video files can I upload at once?
Pangea CMS can upload up to four video files simultaneously. You can select more than four video files for upload, but the fifth file will not start uploading until one of the first four files is fully uploaded. Learn about uploading multiple video files here:
What are the supported file types?
Pangea CMS supports the following formats for video files:
- .mpg
- .mp4
- .mov
- .mxf
Maximum file sizes are as follows:
- Video: 5 GB
- Loop video: 35 MB

Upload a single video file
To upload a single video file:
- Go to New > Multimedia > Video / Loop video in the top menu.
- Select the file you want to upload using either method below:
- Select the file you want to upload and drag and drop it into the box.
- Hit Browse files and navigate to the location on your device where the file is saved. Double-click the file.
The Upload video dialog changes to Video edit as soon as the upload starts. You can immediately start editing the video while the upload is in progress. Alternatively, hit Close to close the edit screen and let the upload complete in the background.

Upload multiple video files
To upload multiple video files:
- Go to New > Multimedia > Video / Loop video in the top menu.
- Select the files you want to upload using either method below:
- Ensure all the files you want to upload are selected, and drag and drop the files into the box.
- Hit Browse files and navigate to the location on your device where the files are saved. Select all the files you want to upload and select Open.
The Upload video dialog disappears and the Upload manager appears in the top-right corner of Pangea CMS. You can immediately start editing the video while the upload is in progress. Hover over the relevant panel and select Edit (the pencil icon).

Alternatively, hit elsewhere on the screen to minimize the Upload manager and let the uploads complete in the background.

Check the upload progress
You can check the upload progress in the following places:
Video edit screen
You can check the status of the upload in the Preview on the Video section of the edit screen.
You normally see the following statuses in sequence:
- Uploading: Pangea CMS is uploading the video file.
- Processing: Pangea CMS is encoding the video file.
- Playback options: The video file is fully processed and ready to publish.
Upload manager
You can check the status of the upload via the Upload manager in the top-right corner of Pangea CMS. You normally see the following statuses in sequence:
- Uploading item: Pangea CMS is uploading and encoding the video file.
- Upload complete: The video file is fully processed and ready to publish.
If you select more than four video files for upload, you might also see the Waiting status. This means the upload has not yet started (the fifth file will not start uploading until one of the first four files is fully uploaded).
