Upload a single video file

TIP: You can start the upload process from any page in Pangea CMS. For example, you can upload a video from the article edit screen, then continue writing the article while the video uploads in the background.

To upload a single video file to Pangea CMS:

  1. Go to New > Multimedia in the top menu and select Video.
  2. Select the video file you want to upload using either method below:
    • Click the video file that you want to upload and drag and drop it into the box.
    • Click Browse files and navigate to the location on your device where the video file is saved. Double-click the video file.

The Upload video window automatically changes to the Video - Feature guide window when the upload starts.

The following options are available:

  • (A): Start adjusting the basic settings while the upload is in progress. Click General in the left panel to add a title for the video and add one or more categories.
  • (B): Check the progress of the upload in the Preview window. After the upload is complete, you see the message Processing. This means that Pangea CMS is currently encoding the video.
  • (C): Click Cancel upload to stop the upload.
  • (D): Click Close to close the edit screen and let the upload complete in the background. When the upload is complete, the video is automatically saved in Pangea CMS with the status Draft. The title matches the name of the video file.

If you close the Video - Feature guide screen, you can open it again later using either method below:

  • Click the Upload manager icon in the top-right corner of Pangea CMS. Hover your cursor over the upload panel and click Edit (the pencil icon) to open the Video - Feature guide screen. This option is available for files that are currently uploading and files have been successfully uploaded during the current session.
  • Find the video using the Pangea CMS Search tool, then click the title in the relevant box on the search results page. You can also click Edit (the pencil icon).

Upload multiple video files

TIP: You can start the upload process from any page in Pangea CMS. For example, you can upload a batch of videos from the article edit screen, then continue writing the article while the videos upload in the background.

To upload multiple videos to Pangea CMS:

  1. Go to New > Multimedia in the top menu and select Video.
  2. Select the videos you want to upload using either method below:
    • Ensure all the videos you want to upload are selected, and drag and drop the files into the box.
    • Click Browse files and navigate to the location on your device where the videos are saved. Select all the videos that you want to upload and click Open.
NOTE: Pangea CMS can upload up to four video files in parallel. You can select more than four files for upload, but Pangea CMS will not start uploading the fifth file until one of the first four files is fully uploaded.

The Upload video window disappears and the Upload manager appears in the top-right corner of Pangea CMS.

The following options are available for each upload while the upload is in progress:

  • Check the icon on the left side of each panel to verify the status of the upload:
    • Uploading: If the file is uploading, you see the upload progress.
    • Uploaded: If the file is uploaded, you see the green tick icon.
    • Waiting: If the upload has not yet started, you see the clock icon.
    • Failed: If the upload has failed, you see the red alert icon.
    • Canceled: If you cancel the upload, you see the x icon.
  • Hover your cursor over the upload panel and click Edit (the pencil icon) to open the Video - Feature guide screen. You can start adjusting basic settings while the upload is in progress.
  • Hover your cursor over the upload panel and click Cancel upload (the x icon) to stop the upload.

The Upload manager remains open until 10 minutes after all of the files are uploaded (unless you manually close it). If the Upload manager is closed, you can click the Upload manager icon to open it again and manage the uploads. The Upload manager icon is not available after you close and reopen Pangea CMS.

If you leave the uploads to complete in the background, each video is automatically saved in Pangea CMS with the status Draft when the upload is complete. The title matches the name of the video file.

You can open the edit screen for a video later using either method below:

  • Click the Upload manager icon in the top-right corner of Pangea CMS. Hover your cursor over the upload panel and click Edit (the pencil icon) to open the Video - Feature guide screen. This option is available for files that are currently uploading and files have been successfully uploaded during the current session.
  • Find the video using the Pangea CMS Search tool, then click the title in the relevant box on the search results page. You can also click Edit (the pencil icon).
