  2. Under Other, tick PangeaGO uploads.

Update image metadata in Pangea CMS

For photos from PangeaGO, 'PangeaGO' is added as the default Source in Pangea CMS. This is necessary because an image cannot be saved in the Pangea Graphic Database without a Source.

It's important to update the Source before the image is used. The Source is publicly displayed with the image and should reflect the organization, agency, or entity that owns permission to use it.

To update the Source for an image from Pangea CMS:

  1. Find the image on the main Search page. Select the Edit button.
  2. Under Source, update the Source. Hit Save & close.

The image Source is now updated. For detailed information about how to add the metadata for an image, see the alternative article below:

Troubleshoot failed uploads

An upload might fail for the following reasons:

  • Your internet connection is unstable.
  • Our upload servers are temporarily unavailable.
  • The file is too large (for video, audio, and image files).

If an upload fails, we suggest trying to upload the item again. Follow these steps:

  1. Select Upload manager on the PangeaGO homepage.
  2. Select the reupload button next to the failed upload.

To reupload the item, choose your preferred option:

  • Upload anyway: PangeaGO will try to upload the same file again.
  • Upload new compressed file: PangeaGO will create a new compressed version of the file (lower quality) and try to upload the compressed version. The original version of the file will remain saved in PangeaGO and will not be deleted or overwritten. This option is useful for larger files.
