About user groups
This article describes the options available in your Pangea CMS user account.
Your account includes:
- Read-only information that you can check (such as your user group).
- Settings that you can update to customize your experience in Pangea CMS.
Open your user account
In Pangea CMS, follow the relevant step below to open your user account:
- On desktop: Select the user icon in the top-right corner, then select My account.
- On mobile: Tap the ≡ (menu) button, then select My account (the gear icon).
Enable search in English
When Enable search in English is ticked, category titles in Pangea CMS appear in English as well as in the local language. This applies in the following places:
- Search results and filters
- Content edit pages
This is useful if you access sites in Pangea CMS that use a language you do not know.
To enable search in English:
- Open your user account.
- Go to User preferences.
- Tick Enable search in English.
- Click Save or Save & close.
Category titles now appear in English as well as in the local language
Update your notification settings
Pangea CMS can send you notifications about different events. Notifications are available for the following events:
For each event, you can receive notifications through one or both of the following channels:
- Pangea message: You receive a notification inside Pangea CMS.
- Email: You receive an email notification to the email address you use to log in to Pangea CMS.
To update your notification settings:
- Open your user account.
- Go to Notifications. Events are listed under Notification option.
- For each event, tick one or both of the notification channels:
- Pangea message
- Click Save or Save & close.
Your notification settings are now updated.
Check your account details
You can check your account details in the following sections:
Check Azure settings
Every time you log in to Pangea CMS, Microsoft Azure verifies your identity. You use the same credentials you use to log in to Microsoft Office 365.
Under Azure settings, you can check your Microsoft Azure account details.
The following details are listed:
- First name: The first name linked to your Microsoft Azure account, as it appears in Pangea CMS.
- Last name: The last name linked to your Microsoft Azure account, as it appears in Pangea CMS.
- Username: The username that you use to log in to Pangea CMS and Microsoft Office 365.
- Email: The email address linked to your Microsoft Azure account, which Pangea CMS may use to send you notifications.
You cannot update these details from Pangea CMS. To update details such as your name and email, contact your organization's human resources (HR) department.
Check general settings
Under General, you can check settings that affect your access to the current site in Pangea CMS. These settings do not affect your access to Microsoft Office 365. If you have access to multiple sites in Pangea CMS, these settings can vary between sites.
The following settings are listed:
- Status: You see one of these options:
- Active: You can access the current site in Pangea CMS.
- Inactive: You cannot access the current site in Pangea CMS.
- User group: Your Pangea CMS Rights in Pangea CMS are regulated through user groups. Each user belongs to a specific group. This defines which areas of Pangea CMS they can access and what actions they can perform. Learn more. for the current site.
- Validity: You see one of these options:
- Unlimited: Your access to the current site continues indefinitely.
- Limited: Your access to the current site ends after a set period.
You cannot update these settings from Pangea CMS. To update settings such as your user group, your service director needs to contact Pangea Customer Care.
