New Features

1. Trends Widget Updates

The new Trends widget (which replaces the "Most Popular" widget because it was based on an older technology) has undergone several updates.

It will now be possible to restrict the tracked content by its publication date. This is intended to avoid the "evergreen" content populating this widget constantly. A new check-box will only allow the widget to display content which was published during the period of time selected in the Time Frame menu:

If you select a 3 days Time Frame and enable the check box - only content with publication date within the selected period of time will shown in the widget.

Another check box allows the distribution of Trends widget data directly to the Mobile application (instead of data previously used for the discontinued "Most Popular" widget):

2. Scheduler - Video on Demand Playlist

The second part of the Playlist feature has been implemented.

It allows editors to stream video files (Video On-Demand) as though it was a live show.

Planned expansion in the future release will allow for multiple video files to be added to the playlist.

3. Sub-Navigation on Content Pages - Improve Visibility

The new sub-navigation on the article edit page (or any of the new content edit pages) has increased visibility. This is based on the editors' feedback on how this new feature is used.

The article edit page sub-navigation was allows for easier navigation through settings while working on an article.

4. Unify Snackbars in Pangea CMS

The behaviour and appearance of snackbars in Pangea CMS 8 has been standardised. This has been done as a part of the updates on the new Pangea CMS 8 pages.

Snackbars in Pangea CMS 8 provide brief messages about processes that an app has performed or will perform (e.g. such as when changes to an article have been saved).

As of the Pangea 8.09 Release, these snackbars will be displayed in the top-right corner of a page.

5. Insufficient Access Screen - Page Not Found

In case a contributor or editor encounter a page where to which they may not have access rights, a newly created "You don't have permission to view this page" screen will be displayed:

6. Description for External Images

The functionality of external images in Pangea CMS has been updated with a description field. When an external image is selected in article editor, all metadata will automatically be populated, including description.
