About user groups
This article explains how to use AI suggestions in Pangea CMS.
How it works
On request, Pangea AI can suggest titles, introductions, and summaries. AI suggestions are a starting point. Editors can:
- Select a suggestion to use. The selected text is editable and must be reviewed carefully before publication.
- Use the suggestions as inspiration and write the text independently.
IMPORTANT: The quality of AI-generated content varies. Always review and adjust suggested text carefully before publication.
Input
Pangea AI uses the following input to generate suggestions:
- Body text: The body text of the article.
- Prompt: The prompt for the text type. See Manage prompts for more details.
NOTE: All suggestions from the same service for the same text type are guided by the same prompt. You cannot create custom prompts for individual stories.
Request feature access
On request, we can enable AI suggestions for individual services. To request feature access, contact Pangea Customer Care.
In your request, include the following details:
- Who should have access. We can enable the feature for your whole service or just for individual users.
- Which text types should have AI suggestions (see Supported text types for the full list).
NOTE: For RFE/RL services, we can enable AI suggestions only for titles (main, teaser, and social). This follows RFE/RL editorial policy.
Supported text types
AI suggestions are supported for the following text types:
Title texts
- Main title (General > Title)
- Teaser title (Website teaser > Title)
- Social title (Social media > Title)
Introduction texts
- Main introduction (General > Introduction)
- Teaser introduction (Website teaser > Introduction)
- Social introduction (Social media > Introduction)
Other texts
- Summary (Editor > Summary)
Pangea AI generates 3 suggestions for titles and 1 suggestion for all other text types.
NOTE: We can enable this feature separately for different text types, so your service may have access to AI suggestions for some or all of these text types.
Generate AI suggestions
AI suggestions are available once per text type for each article. If you generate suggestions and then update the body text, Pangea AI does not generate new suggestions.
TIP: For the best results, prepare the body text before generating AI suggestions.
To generate AI suggestions:
- On the Editor subpage, fully prepare the body text.
- Go to the relevant text box (for example, Website teaser > Title).
- Click the Pangea AI button.
- Click Generate. Wait while Pangea AI generates your suggestions.
- Click a suggestion to select it.
The selected suggestion is inserted into the text box. Any existing text in the box is overwritten. To view the suggestions again, click the Pangea AI button.
IMPORTANT: Review the text carefully and adjust it as needed before publication.
Manage prompts
About prompts
A prompt is a set of instructions for an AI model. The prompt tells the AI what task to perform and can include additional details to guide its response (such as the topic, length, tone, structure, and audience).
Prompt management
Pangea AI uses a separate prompt for each text type. Manage all prompts from the Site localization page in Pangea CMS.
For each text type, choose from the following:
- Default prompt: Use the Pangea default prompt.
- Custom prompt: Write a prompt tailored to your service.
For detailed information, see Customizing your Pangea AI prompts.
Troubleshooting
In rare cases, the 'Something went wrong' message appears when generating AI suggestions.
Try the following:
- Wait a few moments, then try generating suggestions again.
- If the issue persists, visit the Pangea Status page and check for known Azure AI issues. If the issue is listed, you can track its status there.
- If the issue is not listed, contact Pangea Customer Care.
