About user groups
This article explains how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) suggestions in Pangea CMS.
How it works
On request, Pangea AI can suggest titles, introductions, and summaries for text content pages. AI suggestions are a starting point. You can:
- Select a suggestion to use. Edit the text as needed.
- Use the suggestions as inspiration and write your own text.
IMPORTANT: The quality of AI-generated content can vary. Always review the text carefully before you publish it.
Input for AI suggestions
Pangea AI uses the following input to generate suggestions:
- Body text: The current body text for your content page.
- Prompt: The prompt for the text type. Each text type (for example, main title and teaser title) has a different prompt. For more details, see Manage prompts.
NOTE: All suggestions for the same text type are guided by the same prompt. You cannot create custom prompts for individual content pages.
Request feature access
We can enable AI suggestions for individual language services on request. To request feature access, contact Pangea Customer Care.
In your request, include the following details:
- Who should have access. We can enable the feature for your whole service or only for individual Pangea CMS users.
- Which text types should have AI suggestions. For the full list, see Supported text types.
NOTE: For RFE/RL services, we can enable AI suggestions only for titles (main, teaser, and social). This follows RFE/RL editorial policy.
Supported text types
AI suggestions are supported for the following text types:
Title texts
- Main title (General > Title, or Editor > Add title)
- Teaser title (Website teaser > Title)
- Social title (Social media > Title)
Introduction texts
- Main introduction (General > Introduction, or Editor > Add introduction)
- Teaser introduction (Website teaser > Introduction)
- Social introduction (Social media > Introduction)
Other texts
- Summary (Editor > Summary)
Pangea AI generates 3 suggestions for titles and 1 suggestion for all other text types.
NOTE: We can enable this feature separately for different text types, so your service may have access to AI suggestions for some or all of these text types.
Generate AI suggestions
AI suggestions are available once per text type for each content page. If you generate suggestions again, the same suggestions appear. This applies even after you update the body text.
TIP: For the best results, fully prepare the body text before generating AI suggestions.
To generate AI suggestions:
- On the Editor subpage, fully prepare the body text.
- Go to the relevant text box (for example, Editor > Add title).
- Click the Suggestions button (labeled Suggestion if only one suggestion is available).
- Click Generate. Wait while Pangea AI generates your suggestions.
- Click a suggestion to select it.
Pangea CMS inserts the selected suggestion into the text box and overwrites any existing text. To view the suggestions again, click the Suggestions button.
IMPORTANT: Adjust the inserted text as needed. AI-generated content requires careful review before publication.
Manage prompts
What is a prompt?
A prompt is a set of instructions for an AI model. It tells the AI what task to perform and can include additional details to guide its response (such as the topic, length, tone, structure, and audience).
Prompt management
Pangea AI uses a separate prompt for each text type. Site admins can manage all prompts from the Site localization page in Pangea CMS.
For each text type, choose from the following:
- Default prompt: Use the Pangea default prompt.
- Custom prompt: Write a custom prompt.
For detailed information, see the following article:
Troubleshooting
In rare cases, the Something went wrong message appears when you try to generate AI suggestions.
Try the following:
- Wait a few moments, then try generating suggestions again.
- If the issue persists, visit the Pangea Status page and check for known Pangea AI issues. If the issue is listed, you can track its status there.
- If the issue is not listed, contact Pangea Customer Care.
