About Pangea AI
Pangea AI is a generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) tool, which can suggest clear and descriptive titles to match your content.
The suggestions from Pangea AI provide a helpful starting point for title creation. Editors are free to adjust the suggested text before publication, or use the suggestions only as inspiration.
IMPORTANT: Pangea AI is currently available in BETA for testing and evaluation with selected pilot services. Learn more.
The title suggestions from Pangea AI are based on the following input:
- Body text: The unique body text for the story.
- Prompt: The prompt for Pangea AI title suggestions. Each service can use the global (default) prompt or create a local (custom) prompt. To ensure a standard approach, Pangea AI uses one prompt for all requests from the same service. Editors cannot create unique prompts for individual stories.
Information for pilot services
Pangea AI is currently available in BETA for selected pilot services. In BETA, we are working closely with pilot services to fine-tune the universal prompt and prepare Pangea AI for general release. Pilot services should be aware of the following limitations:
- In BETA, the quality of the suggestions might vary. For this reason, it is especially important to review the suggested text before publication and make adjustments as needed.
- In BETA, Pangea AI will prepare one set of suggestions per content page. If you try to use Pangea AI again, you will see the same suggestions. Pangea AI will not provide new suggestions, even if you update the body text. For this reason, it is especially important to fully prepare the body text before using Pangea AI.
Pangea AI is built on new technology inside the Pangea platform. For this reason, the BETA version of Pangea AI might not be 100% stable. Please report glitches and unexpected behavior to Pangea Customer Care. We are actively monitoring the stability of Pangea AI (BETA) and working to fine-tune this exciting new technology.
Use Pangea AI
TIP: Fully prepare the body text for the story before using Pangea AI. Pangea AI provides title suggestions to match your body text. If your body text is incomplete, the suggested titles will only tell part of the story.

During the BETA phase, Pangea AI will prepare one set of suggestions per content page. If you hit the Pangea AI (BETA) button again, you will see the same suggestions. Pangea AI will not provide new suggestions, even if you update the body text.
Pangea AI prompt
A prompt is a set of instructions that is given to an AI model. The prompt tells the AI what task to perform, and might provide additional instructions to guide its response. For example, if you ask AI to generate a piece of text, the prompt might specify the topic, length, tone, structure, and intended audience.
To ensure a standard approach, Pangea AI uses one prompt for all requests from the same service. Editors cannot create unique prompts for individual stories. Pilot services can choose between the following options for the Pangea AI prompt:
Global prompt
The global prompt is the universal / default version of the prompt that is available for all pilot services. If your service does not have a local prompt, Pangea AI will follow the global prompt. The current version of the global prompt is as follows:
- The headlines should include a few main keywords, and be clear, helpful, and descriptive of the content. They should not exaggerate or be shocking.
During the BETA phase, we are working closely with our pilot services to fine-tune the global prompt. We might make small adjustments to the global prompt during this time. You can check the current version of the global prompt in this article or via the following configuration key on the Site localization page in Pangea CMS:
- AIServices.TitleGeneration.UserPrompt
To learn how to use the Site localization page, see the following article:
Local prompt
Your service can create a local (custom) prompt. This lets you tailor the suggestions to your specific needs, and is helpful if your service already follows specific guidelines for title creation.
Site admins can create or update the local prompt using the following configuration key:
- AIServices.TitleGeneration.UserPrompt
The key is available on the Site localization page in Pangea CMS. To learn how to use the Site localization page, see the following article:
When crafting a local prompt, use the global prompt as your model. Change just the relevant details for your use case, or add further instructions to guide the AI. Below, find some examples of further instructions:
- The title should be under 150 characters.
- Every word in the title should be capitalized.
- The title should be engaging.
