New Features

1. News Layout Improvements: Comments

Our news layout helps engage visitors to read through all content items from the Zone page. As it was initially created for short news, it was not optimal for some content types. Given that some services use this Zone layout for most Zones on the site with different types of content, this layout will be gradually improved over the coming releases.

In this release, we added Comments option for items, which are in a Zone with News Layout. This will allow users have full experience of reading an article with opinions shared directly below:

Next release will bring URL- and analytics update.

2. Live Page improvements

We continue to work on Media navigation improvements. A single "LIVE" button, which can be linked to Live page has already been implemented. This button can be used for services, which have 24x7 audio-, video-broadcasting.

In this release Live page has been improved in the following way:

• decreased size of tube previews (please, make sure to update tube images and program images). This will help highlight which tubes are available to viewers, and which of them are Live now;
• Live page will now include items, which are commonly placed in Media navigation (as Schedule link, link to program index)

Please make sure to review whether any of your tubes need to be hidden, or updated with proper images and title, before enabling Live button for your site (instead of Media Navigation).

3. Update Label Expiration

In the last release we introduced an Update label which becomes active with Time of publication.

In 7.32 this feature underwent some improvements. The Update label is now connected with a configuration key, which sets up the Relative time for your site (time showing how long ago the article was published or updated).

As soon as relative time is expired (usually it's 5 hours), Update label and time of update will disappear from site, and only time of Publication will stay.

If you want to keep old pattern for Update label, please address Pangea Customer care:

Value of key Responsive.Article.UpdateDate.LastUpdateLabelExpiration should be changed to false.

4. Vertical Teaser for All Content Types

As we are planning to build new widgets based on Vertical teaser image, we implemented vertical teaser option for all content types (including video, audio, photo gallery, poll, quiz, document, infographics).

​5. Auto-Adjustment of Vertical Image Widget

Our Vertical Top Story widget is quite popular among services. However, services found it challenging to align vertical teaser with a Top Story widget in the same row of widgets.

Because of this, an auto-match height functionality is now supported to match the height of the vertical widget to the height of Top Story:

​6. Search Improvements

A number of improvements have been made to the Responsive search page. We developed following things and fixed following issues:

• Live pages are now excluded from search results (updated information from the Live page would not manifest in search results, which would show up with old meta-data);
• Teaser images will be displayed on search result page;
• Some of the Google indexing issues have been fixed;
• The design of search results has been improved;
