New Features

1. New Layout for Podcast Widget ​

New widget layouts aim to provide more flexibility when building Section pages, Section based "You may also like", or Regions. Our new compact Podcast widget has the following features:

  • It is compatible with content widget (e.g. with the "Big Images" layout)
  • It has link to the podcast Zone
  • It has link to the latest episode of a Podcast
  • Features a Sticky Audio Player button that lets you start listening to a podcast while continuing to explore your site

In order to set up this layout for your Podcast widget, please select the "Compact" layout option in the Podcast widget edit page:

2. New Navigation Update: Custom Icons ​

If your Service wants to switch to a new mobile-first navigation, but the existing settings or icons do not meet your requirements, there is now an option to have customised icons developed specifically for your Service:

At the moment we have the following icons available as our default options:

  • Live
  • Video
  • Audio
  • Podcast
  • UGC
  • Login
  • Text links

However, as we noted above, based on your request to Pangea Customer Care, we are able to expand this list for you.

3. CMS 8 Search Updates ​

1.Cloning of Loop Videos ​

As of this release it is possible to clone loop videos from other sites and use it for your widgets and content.
To search for loop videos on other sites, please use the advanced search parameters:

  1. Select the content type (Loop video)
  2. In the Site field select the search for all sites (All sites) or for a specific site (if you know the loop video to be on that site)
  3. In the list of results that appear, the Clone button will appear among the action buttons.

2. Content and Images on Search Pages ​

Through continuous work on UX and UI for search pages in CMS 8.0, there are improvements to search pages for content, images in List view, and for content in Card view. Based on the received feedback, it is now possible to search for any content or image using one of the result display modes. There are three view options:

Table view - there are no changes to this option in the release 8.04.
List view - it provides the most information about a content item - title, description, thumbnail of a content, date and time of last changes, date and time of publishing, as well as author of the latest changes.

Card view - this third option is best suited for any fast search using image thumbnail and a content title. For more information about the content, use the Show metadata switch to expand the cards with additional information for all search results, or it is possible to manually expand the tab of each specific material with additional information.

Is is now also possible to use the new action buttons which, together with the search page, are all responsive and automatically adjust to the screen size of any device, be it a desktop, a laptop, a tablet, or a mobile phone.

The number of buttons displayed depends on the size of your screen. In cases of a smaller display, remaining buttons can be found under the "expend" ("...") button.

To start working on a deleted or locked piece of content, it is first necessary to restore or unlock it in order to be able to edit it.

Taking feedback into account, the different colour codes for various content types are present in the new CMS as well. This will make it easier to navigate through search results.

3. Content on Card View ​

When you click on a material in Card View mode, you will be taken to the page for editing this material in CMS 8.0.

4. CMS 8 Article Updates ​

1. CMS 8: See Also Updates ​

After the introduction of updates to the See Also feature in the previous release (e.g. multiple items, custom title), it is now possible to re-adjust the existing "See Also" blocks, by clicking the "Edit" icon. Ability to reorder, add, or remove items, should make the feature more comfortable to use.

2. Find and Replace All ​

In this release we implement the Find and Replace all, this will allow editors to find a word or phrase and replace it by another one, to get to this feature editor enables the source code and there you will see the find and replace function.
the system will show you how many matches were found and give you the option to apply all or cancel

In this release, a Find and Replace button has been added to the text editor. This allows editors to find and replace a word or phrase in the text quickly and without a fuss. To use this function, you must switch to Source mode.
Enter the word or phrase which is to be replaced in the Find field. The system will highlight all matches in yellow. Check if everything is correct, and then enter the word or phrase which is meant to replace the old phrase in the Replace by field. Afterwards, it is possible to choose whether to Replace all or Cancel. If you chose to Replace, make sure to click Apply to save your changes and exit Source mode.
