Access Section settings
To access the settings for a Section page:
- Go to Sections > Sections in the top menu.
- Select the name of the Section you want to manage. Alternatively, hit + Add new to create a new Section.
- Select Settings at the top of the Editor screen.
The Section settings screen opens.
Complete required settings
The required settings must be complete before you can publish a Section page. Follow these steps:
- Update the Localize title (can be in any language).
- Tick the box next to Localize title to display the Localize title in the header when the Section is open on the public website. If you do not tick this box, the Localize title is only visible in Pangea CMS.
- Update the English Name (must be in English). The English Name is only visible in Pangea CMS. Using English helps ensure the name is universally recognizable.
- Add the Metadata for the Section.
- Hit Save Settings to confirm and apply your preferences.
The required settings are now complete. To publish the Section, set the status to Public.
Set the status
The following statuses are available for Section pages:
- Private (Draft): The Section is not available on the public website but is visible to other Pangea CMS users.
- Public (Published): The Section is available on the public website and is visible to other Pangea CMS users.
Use the Status drop-down menu to change the status of a Section. You cannot set the status to Public unless the required settings are complete.
The change is not applied until you hit Save Settings.
Add Metadata
Metadata controls how a Section is previewed in search engine results and in social media posts.
You need to provide the following before you can publish a Section:
- META Title: The title that is displayed in search engine results and when the page is shared via social media.
- META Description: A description that might be displayed in search engine results and when the page is shared via social media.
- META Keywords: Keywords that boost visibility via search engines. Provide several keywords that reflect the contents of the page. Separate keywords with a commas and no spaces.
The changes are not applied until you hit Save Settings.
Add a Section image
The Section Image is displayed in the rich preview link when the Section URL is shared via social media.
Select Section Image to choose the image you want to use. You can only use an image that has already been uploaded to Pangea CMS.
The changes are not applied until you hit Save Settings.
Create a child Section
You can create a child Section that is nested under a parent Section. This provides a clear visual representation of website structure on the Sections list (shown in the screenshot below). Nesting does not affect public website navigation.
To create a child Section page, use the Parent Section drop-down menu to set the parent Section.
The changes are not applied until you hit Save Settings.
Add Sub Navigation
You can add a Sub Navigation to the top of the Section page. A Sub Navigation provides links to other pages from your website.
Hit Section Sub Navigation to select the Sub Navigation you want to apply.
The changes are not applied until you hit Save Settings.
For detailed information about creating and managing Sub Navigations, see the following article:
